MacOS synchronisation to local file at icloud not working #3179

Your Environment

  • Version used: 8.0.1
  • Operating System and version: macOS 14.4.1

Expected Behavior

I am trying to sync superproductivity to icloud using the following path: /Users/NAME/Library/Mobile Documents/comappleCloudDocs/Programme/superprod_sync.json which should create a json file in the given folder for synchronisation purposes.

Current Behavior

Synchronisation is not working due to the following error: Error: Error: EPERM: operation not permitted, open '/Users/NAME/...' I've also tried looking under the privacy settings to give superproducitivity the necessary folder permissions but it doesn't even appear there. Maybe it doesn't register/request these permissions on macOS?

I apologize if this error is due to my inexperience with the mac operating system since I switched to it a week ago.
Thanks for investigating this issue!

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!
