I was talking about this in the LibreLingo matrix room:
We should add in every course a link to a matrix room dedicated to talk in the language you are training for.
For exemple, if I speak french and I want to learn occitan, I click on the link and I join the occitan room. If I'm following a course about esperanto to occitan, or english to occitan, same thing, I join the occitan matrix chatroom. All of theese chatrooms will be in a LibreLingo matrix space (for make it easier to moderate). It could be very nice for language learning, because a course is not all, you need also to train with real persons.
Why matrix ? Because it's free software unlike discord and easy to casual people unlike irc or xmpp. And if language learning needs to be free (as in freedom), also should be language practice ! It could make matrix more popular to casual people.
Maybe in a longterm, making a librelingo matrix instance for the rooms ? (not for register in)

another question is moderation. does matrix provide moderation for content? if not, since this could have massive traffic once a course gets popular, it could be nice to consider using a platform that provides it's own moderation (I mean things like removing spammers, trolls, offensive messages etc etc etc)
Adieu !
